How it works

Each record describes one logical connection, not a live network scan. Cable labels and physical endpoints must be unique, ignoring letter case. A wall jack name should include its location and port, for example Office A-02. Optional patch-panel name and port must be entered together. Up to 96 connections are kept only in this open page; use Save JSON to keep your work. CSV exports prefix spreadsheet formula-like text with an apostrophe.

The formulaDevice port → optional wall jack → optional patch-panel port → switch port

Put it into practice

EXAMPLE

Printer / LAN → Office A-02 → Panel A / 12 → Switch A / 8 can share the label OFFICE-02 at both ends.

EXAMPLE

Direct connections can leave wall jack and patch panel blank.

Good to know

Does this configure or detect hardware?

No. This is a manual documentation tool. It does not discover devices, validate electrical continuity, configure switches or confirm VLANs.

Are the labels sized for a particular label sheet?

No. Print two matching labels per connection on plain paper, then cut and secure them appropriately. This is not a calibrated commercial adhesive-sheet template.

Where is the map saved?

Only explicit JSON downloads save a reusable map. There is no automatic browser storage or upload. Loading JSON replaces the current map after a confirmation when there are unsaved changes.
