FIGGYR / FIELD NOTES

How it works

Weight units convert to kilograms, liquid measures to liters, and counts to items. US fluid ounces and US gallons are volume measures; ounces by weight are mass. The comparer rejects comparisons across these groups. Percentage discounts apply to the whole pack. Prices use your entered currency, with no exchange-rate lookup.

The formulaTotal quantity = items in pack × quantity in each item
Discounted pack price = pack price × (1 − discount ÷ 100)
Unit price = discounted pack price ÷ quantity in kg, L or items

Put it into practice

EXAMPLE

A 500 g pack for 4.50 costs 9.00 per kg. A 1 kg pack for 7.50 costs 7.50 per kg.

EXAMPLE

A pack of 6 × 330 mL contains 1.98 L. At 6.00 before a 10% discount, the discounted price is 5.40, or about 2.727 per L.

Good to know

Can I compare grams with milliliters?

No. Weight and volume need an ingredient-specific density conversion. The comparer will ask for compatible units.

Does lowest unit price always mean best value?

No. Quality, usable quantity, spoilage, shipping, taxes and membership terms can differ. Include any applicable costs consistently in the pack prices yourself.

Which discounts are included?

A single percentage discount on each whole pack. For coupons or multi-buy deals, enter the resulting pack price yourself. Free products and equal unit prices are supported.
