How it works

This conservative whole-drop planner uses one common height for up to 20 wall widths. Patterned rolls reserve one full repeat per roll for initial alignment. Half-drop adds half a repeat to every drop before repeat rounding; this may overestimate compared with an optimized installer cutting plan. Spare strips round up separately. Doors and windows are not deducted, and narrow offcuts are not reused between walls. Follow the product’s actual matching and trimming instructions.

The formulaBase strips = sum of round-up(wall width / roll width)
Cut length = height + trim, rounded up to a pattern repeat
Half-drop adds half a repeat before rounding
Rolls = round up(total strips / complete strips per roll)

Put it into practice

EXAMPLE

For a 4 m wall, 0.53 m roll width needs eight full-width strips before spare strips.

EXAMPLE

A 2.4 m wall plus 10 cm trim with a 64 cm straight repeat gives a 2.56 m cut length.

Good to know

Can I use this for murals or multiple drops across a large pattern?

No. It covers free match, straight match and a conservative half-drop model only. Murals, multi-panel patterns, slopes and stairs need a product-specific layout.

Why is a full repeat reserved from every patterned roll?

The first motif may start at an unknown point. The reserve allows initial alignment and keeps the estimate conservative; actual yield can be better.

Should I deduct openings?

This tool does not deduct doors or windows because complete aligned strips and their offcuts may still be needed. Ask your installer before reducing the order.
